Flush Mounted Room Thermostat

Features

The FMT230D ﬂ ush mount room thermostat

combines the ease of use of a setting dial with

accuracy and advanced features that are only

available from microprocessor based controllers.

The LCD display, which normally shows actual

room temperature, changes momentarily to

show set temperature whenever the setting dial

is moved.

This newly styled thermostat will ﬁ t a standard

UK ﬂ ush mounted electrical accessory box with

a minimum depth of 25mm. Flush mounting and

an ultra slim 16mm installed proﬁ le ensures the

thermostat seamlessly blends in with existing

decor and adds style to any home.

The FMT230D thermostat can be set up by the

installer to provide both traditional on/oﬀ control,

or more sophisticated chrono-proportional

control for increased comfort and energy savings.

If set in chrono-proportional mode, the thermostat

imposes a ﬁ xed cycle rate on the system and

then determines the duration of the On and Oﬀ

periods within each cycle in proportion to the

load. The control algorithm, used to determine

the on/oﬀ periods within the chrono-proportional

function, uses a proportional+integral (PI) routine

to eliminate the oﬀ set normally associated with

on/oﬀ or simple proportional control.

Chrono-proportional control also signiﬁ cantly

improves comfort and generally improves boiler

eﬃ ciency by reducing mean water temperatures.

This model is ideal for use with system or

combination boilers and can be installed without

the need for complicated wiring or commissioning.

Providing a 230volt supply is present, this unit can

be used to switch low voltage (voltage free) or

230v systems.
